Bharat Bandh
Our department
Journalism & Mass Communication had plan to field visit some places.
We decided that we will go to visit at
first civil hospital of Phagwara and
after that we will go to visit police station of Phagwara. We all were
prepared. Suddenly our visit was
postponed. We knew the reason that, that day was “Bharat Bandh”. Today is
holiday but Gram in Bharat bandh
schedule was from 6 am to 4 pm . It is not only here Delhi, Haryana and
Punjab’s farmer also protesting that. But today was Punjab bandh. Bharat Bandh
organized by the Kashan Mazdoor Mocha and Samyukat Krishna. The central trade unions (CTUs) and
the Samyukat Kisan Morcha (SKN) had jointly given a united call for an industrial
and sectoral strike. Several farmers union called for a gram in Bharat bandh or
nationwide strike last Friday. The Bharat Bandh call comes even as hundreds of farmers
marching from Punjab have been stopped
at the state’s border with Haryana near Ambala, about two hundreds kilometers away from Delhi. Haryana Security forces have
used tear gas on them to try and dispersed them. Anyway for the cause of Bharat
Bandh Transportation, Agricultural Activities, rural works, private offices,
village shops, and rural industrial and service sector institutions was closed
due to farmers unions, nationwide strike. But some emergency services such as
ambulance operations, newspaper distribution, marriage, medical shop and exams
are unlikely to be affected during the strike. We collected news from
many sources this is the cause of Bharat bandh. We knew farmers are back on the
streets of Punjab and Haryana with their demand for a law guaranteeing a
minimum support price or MSP for their produce. The farmers also want to
strengthen the MGNREGS and they also want social security. The SKM has written to prime minister
Narendra Modi Demanding a MSP for crops based on the Swaminathan formula
of C2 50 legal guarantee of procurement,
and debt waiver. They also demanded free three hundred units of power for
farming and domestic use and shops and they also want their pensions. We saw
that kind of incident at 2020. That year in 2020 farmers from different states,
mainly Punjab, Haryana and UttarPrades had staged a sit-in-at the Singh,
Gazipur and Tikri Borders. They sat there from August 2020 to December 2021. We
don’t know what happen will tomorrow. But we
want solve the problem. It is my opinion that, being the largest
contributor of main serials to the country, Punjab has earn the title of
Granary of India or Bread Basket of India.
So government should solve their problem and take some reasonable steps
for farmers. Because agriculture is a great matter for any country. If government implement and
fulfill farmers demand than there will
not happen any occurrence.
