Polyethene

Today I will Describe about Polythene and its harmfulness. At first I will explain what is Polythene? Polythene is the most commonly produced plastic. It is a polymer, primarily used for packaging (plastic bags, plastic films, geomembranes and containers including bottles, etc.).  Polythene  is the second-most-commonly-used commercial polymer. It is used in various industries, including agricultural munches, composite  materials, and packaging. Since polythene is not biodegradable, it can persist for a long time  in water and soil, strangling otherwise fruitful land. Unlike other materials plastic does not biodegrade. It can take up to 1,000 years to break down, so when it is discarded, it builds up in the environment until it reaches a crisis  point.  This pollution chokes marine wildlife, damages soil and poisons groundwater, and can cause serious health impacts. But now this time we have to think alternative of polythene. We can think about paper bags. Paper bags are biodegradable. So paper bags are good alternatives to plastic bags. Beside this natural cloth can replace plastic bags. Sustainable clothing made from organic cotton, wool, hemp, or bamboo won’t shed plastic fibers when washed. Felted or recycled wool is a versatile safe. At last we have to think how can we stop using polythene. Here are some that can change our life and can improve our environment.

1.       Avoid single-use plastics such as drinking straws.

2.        When we go shopping

we have to remember to take a cloth bag.

3.        We have to buy  more bulk food and fewer packaged product.

4.        We have to use Tupperware for glass or stewed containers.

5.       We have to pay attention and put our plastic wastes in the correct recycling container.

6.       We have to avoid using cosmetics that use microplastics.
