Our another field visit was at October 18 2024 Hardopharala Village. We the students of B.A (Journalism & Mass Communication) 2nd year and some of our masters students had visited that place. Our department had arranged a microbus for our students. That day weather was very good. About Hardopharala I can say it is a medium size village located in Jallandhar. And state name, Punjab, India. It is located 17 kilometer's from district headquarter Jalandhar and 140 Kilometer's from state capital Chandigarh. Hardopharala was established in 1973 and it is managed by the department of education. Hardopharala is famous in their school. The school consist of grades from 6 to 10. The school is co-educational and it doesn't have an attached pre-primary section. When we went to visit hardopharala village then we also visited hardopharala's Punchayet office. Hardopharala village is administrated by a Sarpanch who is an elected representative of village as per Panchayati Raj. We know Panchayats are a vital part of India's democratic structure and play a significant role in addressing local issues. The chairman of all the Panchayati samitis from the members of the Zila Parishad and are headed by the district collector. We visited Panchayet office and we knew lot of about Panchayet system. Panchayets have the responsibility to prepare plans for economic development and social justice with respect to the subjects as per the lay put in place. For the students of Journalism & Mass Communications to learn about the Panchayet Raj system because it can help them understand the role of the media in the system and how the media can impact the Panchayet raj institutions. So that visit was very effective for all of us.
