Practice of Democracy
I think it is a most common word for everyone. And most of all time we discuss about that topics. Democracy is a system of Government where the people have the power to choose their leaders. Anyway we know there are two types of Democracy. A liberal democracy is a representative democracy with rule of law, protection for individual liberties and rights, and limitations on the power of the elected representatives. On the other hand an Illiberal democracy is a representative democracy with weak or no limits on the power of the elected representatives to rule as they please. This two types of democracy we can see in the world. Every country have their own ways to maintain their democracy. As we compare we can see the scenario of democracy is , the peoples republic of chain a (PRC) is not a liberal or representative democracy. Beside this The United States is a representative democracy. About Canada, the politics of Canada functions with in a frame work of parliamentary democracy and a federal system of parliamentary government with strong democratic traditions. We know India is a democratic country. Democracy in India is the largest by population in the world. And India was one of the first few countries in the world which adapt Universal adult franchise right from Independence, giving woman and men equal voting rights. India is the 19th most electoral country in Asia. Some other countries scenario is different. But democracy is very important for every country. We know democracy is based on the principles of equality, which means that everyone has the same status before the law. Accountability is very important for strong democracy. The rule of law is a big elements to protect for people of a democratic country. Freedom of expression: We know freedom of speeh and expression allows people to qustion their government and reach a better truth. We can say about human rights. ReplyDeletePeople often talk about countries "becoming" democracies, once they start to have relatively free and open elections. But democracy includes far more than just elections, and it really makes more sense to think about the will of the people idea, rather than about institutional or voting structures, when we are trying to assess how democratic a country is. Democracy is better understood as something that we can always have more – or less – of, rather than something that either is, or is not.
