Women's Day not an Occasion

                                                                                 "Women's Day not an Occasion"

Today is 8th March and  8th march is International Women's Day. We knew Vladimir Lenin declared March 8th as International Women day in 1922 to honor the  women's role in the 1917 Russian Revolution. But the first International Women's Day celebration took place on M arch 19, 1911 in Austria, Denmark, Switzerland and Germany. Now it is a Global Day to recognize and celebrate women's and girls social, economic, cultural, and political achievements. It is also a time to highlight the progress made in advancing women's right and the ongoing efforts needed to ensure their full participation in all aspects of society. United Nations also recognized officially declared these days in 1977. International Women's Day has assumed a New Global Dimension for Women in Developed and developing countries  alike.  Anyway on the eve of women's day we can see there are so many problems for women's empowerment and women's safety is vulnerable in whole world. Because  our negative emotions and tendency is not  helpful for women's and girls. Sorry to say especially  south Asian region  now it is  not satisfactory scenario for Girls and Women's. From childhood a girl faces problems and Barriers in every step of her life. So many limitations for empowerment of women's.  First of all social support, family support, lack of trust inadequate communication and insufficient training. But one thing is very significant, that  they are harassing in everywhere. Women are the back born of families and communities  but we cannot able to safe them properly. The safety of girl child is not guaranteed in many societies including India. Recently we are observing the situation of Bangladesh women's, according to report around  last  9 months  234 women's  was rapped till today. So Bangladesh sees troubling rise in cases  of Rape and assault on Women. Women Between age 19 to 48 only in Dhaka City and others cases also around in Bangladesh. Last seven days we saw dangerous type of violation with  child girls and also occurrence of gang rape case.  Child age between 6  to 10 years.  Bangladesh also recently saw several incidents of rapes and attack on women on the street and other places. When we are thinking about women's empowerment beside this we can see those of barriers for women and girl child. We can add  to write more some barriers of women's and girl empowerment  some of very important: Girl face Verbal Physical and Emotional Harassment and abuse in Public Spaces like school workplace and Markets.  Child Marriage, poor health and sexual abuse those of things is associated with their livings. If we want to empower them at first we have to keep them safe. Moreover there are seven primary areas of life that can empower them. We have to support them Mentally, Occasionally, Financially, Familial, Socially, Physically and spiritually. And for proper empowerment best education opportunities is also very necessary.  We have to prevent stereotypes and social and cultural norms what created for them. And education is must for girls. Beside this proper health care and employment opportunities is must. This year 2025 observed  women's day on March 8 under the campaign theme " Accelerate Action" this campaign theme emphasis the urgent need to take decisive steps toward achieving gender equality, addressing the slow pace of progress, and empowering  women and girls worldwide. At last we can say focus on their education, economic opportunities , and equal rights, while also challenging harmful gender norms and promoting awareness of women's issues.
